Short Term Accommodation and Assistance (STAA), previously known as Respite Care.

For families and carers, STAA/ Respite Care provides temporary relief for a primary caregiver, enabling you to take a much-needed break from the demands of caregiving a disabled family member. STAA/ Respite Care help ease the burden of family caregiving and help to relieve stress; prevent you from becoming exhausted, isolated, or even burned out; restore your energy, and promote balance in your life.

For adult participants are all about helping them having fun, learn new skills and meet new people so that one day they can live more independently.

For children, the focus is on social development and having fun.

What’s We Offer?
Explore2Grow proudly offer Short-Term Accommodation and Assistance (STAA) at house located at 491 Princes Hwy, Narre warren, Vic 3805. Our perfect location is closed to public transport including buses, trains, as well as restaurants, shops, parks, library, Casey Arc and are all within walking distance.
Our respite program designed to promote supported and improve independent living and social skills of people with psychosocial disability, mainly related to mental health conditions, autism and intellectual disability.
We focused on improving living standards, offering excellent housing facilities, and build a supportive environment and filled with lots of natural light making you feel like home-like environment. With our friendly and fully qualified staff and our accommodation, our participants will be experiencing relaxed when away from their own home.
Our accommodation is offered on a short-term, or planned basis, and includes overnight options for every day and night of the year.
In our Short-Term Accommodation setting, NDIS funding covers all relevant costs including accommodation, personal care, food, and a range of other activities. Participants only contribute to transportation and travel costs.

How to Access STAA/ Respite Care?
STAA is funded in the “core” section of the NDIS budget under “Assistance with Daily Living” (Category 1). If you want NDIS respite accommodation included in your plan, ask your planner or Local Area Coordinator (LAC) about it in your planning meeting or in your review. Explain to them how it would help you to have this short term accommodation and assistance included in the plan, and take any evidence you have that can help support your request. This evidence might include letters from an allied health professional or even a support coordinator.
